Here are five things you can do today to begin making money with PLR.

Publish an eBook. Take a bundle of articles about a topic and compile them into an eBook. You can – and probably should – edit the articles, then organize them into chapters. Craft an introduction and a conclusion, add a cover, and viola! You’ve got an ebook that you can now offer for sale.

Create a special report. A special report is similar to an ebook, but it’s generally shorter. Typically, marketers use special reports as a give-away to help build up a mailing list. Since you’re going to be giving the report away rather than selling it, it makes sense to use PLR. It will take a lot less of your valuable time than will creating something from scratch. This is a longer term plan than selling an ebook, but building a responsive list is the first step to profiting on the Internet.

Write an autoresponder series. Much like a special report, an autoresponder series is designed to help build your mailing list. The advantage of an email series is that it trains your subscribers to both expect email from you, and to open it. In the future, when you are presenting offers to your list, getting them to look forward to your emails and to open them will greatly increase your profits.

Build a niche blog. Blogs are hot. Google loves them, readers love them, and the profit potential is amazing. The reason both Google and readers love them is that they are constantly updated with new content. The trouble is, keeping up with a demanding posting schedule can be a real bear. Enter PLR. One 50 page ebook will give you enough posts to keep your blog rolling for months. You can monetize a blog with Adsense, affiliate links, or paid advertising.

Craft a viral ebook. A viral ebook is an ebook that is designed to be given away. You write it and grant any reader the right to distribute it for free. They can send it to their friends, mail it to their list, post it on their website for download. You can post it in a number of ebook directories, where people looking for information can find it when they search on your topic. At first glance this seems like a money losing proposition, but the secret lies in the embedded affiliate links. A viral ebook acts as a salesman for you where ever it goes. Whenever someone buys through any of your links, you’ll get paid.

Mistake number one:

Buying poor quality PLR. This one’s a biggie. Many people have been burned by shoddy PLR, and if it’s the first PLR they’ve purchased, they may end up thinking it’s all bad. Rest assured that just as you will find good content writers and bad content writers, you will also find both good and bad PLR. The trick is in knowing the difference.
How do you avoid this common mistake? Make sure when you buy PLR that you buy it from reputable sellers. Ask other people in your niche for recommendations. Ask around on Internet marketing forums. Most importantly, remember that old adage that says “You get what you pay for.” It’s as true for PLR as it is for used cars. If you’re buying 10 articles and an ebook for a dollar, you’re getting a dollar’s worth of content, guaranteed.

Mistake number two:

Using PLR content as is. Once you find good quality, well researched PLR in your niche, you might just be tempted to copy and paste it right onto your website. Stop! This is deadly behavior when dealing with PLR. Do you really want to have the same identical content as dozens or hundreds of other sites? That’s not exactly going to earn you any bonus points with your readers. And it won’t do your SEO any favors either.

Always rework your PLR. Reworking can be anything from moving paragraphs around to a complete word by word rewrite. Put as much or as little work into it as you think it warrants, but do something to it. The more you change PLR, the more unique it becomes, and the better your marketing will be.

Mistake number three:

Failing to use PLR. How many ebooks and articles have you purchased that now sit on your hard drive and collect digital dust? If you’re anything like most marketers, the number is pretty high. You paid for it, so why are you not using it? Time to dust it off and put it to use!

Gather all your PLR together and go through it piece by piece. Decide if you can use it, and if not, throw it away. There’s no sense cluttering up your hard drive with things you’ll never use. You’ll probably discover quite a lot of PLR you didn’t even know you had. Organize what’s left into folders. Maybe you’ll compile those 12 dog training articles into an ebook. Put them in a folder together. Maybe you’ll split that home improvement ebook into a bunch of posts and build a niche blog. Put it in a folder with a note. Once you’ve got everything organized, you’ll be in a much better position to put it to use.
